Synopsis of Dandadan

After being aggressively rejected, Momo Ayase is furious when she stumbles upon a boy being harassed. Saved by her impulsive kindness, the boy—obsessed with the occult—tries to engage her in a conversation about supernatural interests he believes they share. Dismissing his claims, Ayase declares herself a believer in ghosts instead, sparking a heated debate about which is real.

To settle the argument, the two decide to separately visit locations associated with the occult and the supernatural: Ayase explores the former, while the boy investigates the latter.

When they arrive at their respective destinations, they discover that neither of them was wrong—both the occult and ghosts exist. This marks the beginning of Ayase and the boy’s adventure. Sharing the name of Ayase’s favorite idol, Ken Takakura, the pair must navigate the surreal supernatural and science-fiction elements surrounding them to return to a normal life.
