Renowned voice actor Ricardo Brust, known for voicing iconic characters like Cell, Broly, and Mr. Satan in the Latin American dub of Dragon Ball Z, has revealed exciting news for fans of the franchise. What makes this new installment particularly interesting is that the characters return to their childhood, an aspect that will also be reflected in the dubbing. Ricardo Brust mentioned that for this production, the team has decided to hire real children to voice the main characters. This change marks a significant shift in the history of Dragon Ball dubbing, as traditionally, child roles were portrayed by adult actors.

On the other hand, no updates have been provided regarding the involvement of Laura Torres in this project. Torres is the voice actress who brought young Goku, Gohan, and Goten to life in their child forms across all series of the franchise.

A Timeless Phenomenon

The Dragon Ball phenomenon began in 1984 when Akira Toriyama’s famed Japanese manga debuted in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. It became a top-tier title during its ten-and-a-half-year publication. Since then, the manga’s popularity has continued to grow, boasting an incredible record of 260 million copies sold worldwide and counting.

With Dragon Ball‘s ever-growing popularity, the franchise has expanded beyond the manga to include TV animation, movies, games, and merchandise. Now, 39 years after the release of the original manga, Dragon Ball continues to evolve and reach new heights.
