Synopsis
Set during the final days of the One Year War, War in the Pocket zooms in on the small, neutral colony of Side 6, where 10-year-old Al Izuruha lives a carefree life obsessed with Mobile Suits. His world gets turned upside down when he meets Zeon pilot Bernie Wiseman, who’s on a secret mission to destroy a new Gundam prototype hidden in the colony. Al is thrilled to befriend a real-life soldier, but things get complicated when he realizes the Federation pilot protecting the Gundam is actually his older brother’s crush, Christina Mackenzie.
As the conflict hits closer to home, Al’s naive excitement turns into a harsh reality check, showing him the true horrors of war. This series takes a more personal, emotional approach to the Gundam universe, focusing on the innocence lost during wartime and proving that not every story has a happy ending. It's a bittersweet tale of friendship, loyalty, and the devastating cost of conflict, told through the eyes of a child who learns that war isn’t just a game.
